Mmm, leftovers. Isn't it great being able to eat turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce day after day... after day... after day...?

If you're ready for a little break from Thanksgiving's bounty, get your overstuffed rump up off the couch, head down to Seward Park and take a nice, brisk walk. Then pop up the street to Flying Squirrel Pizza for something we don't get a whole lot of in Seattle: perfect East Coast-style pies.

Opened about a month ago by local indie rocker Bill Coury (Visqueen, Once for Kicks, Thee Sgt. Major III), the casual neighborhood pizza cafe is firing up crust that's thick, bubbly and chewy, topped with sweet, flavorful tomato sauce that's 100 percent organic and delivers just the right zest.

The pork and chicken sausages are housemade, and many of the other goods are sourced locally from the likes of Zoe's Meats, Bob's Meats and Molly Moon's Ice Cream.

Try one of the classics, like the chicken sausage pizza with goat cheese, Mama Lil's Peppers, spinach and mozzarella ($18.50 for a 15-inch pie); or get adventurous with garlic-roasted pulled pork, cilantro, red onion, cotija cheese and fresh lime ($19.50).

There are salads, antipasto nibbles, and local wines and taps to wash it all down. And don't worry -- you can still have another turkey sandwich tomorrow.
